Temporary Heating Solutions

Heat Mat has a range of temporary heating solutions for use on building sites and outdoor projects.

These innovative products will enable groundwork to continue in cold weather, prevent essential water supplies freezing and enable concrete to cure in low temperatures.

The range includes temporary heating mats to thaw ground for access purposes, temporary pipe frost protection and specialist cables to heat concrete to support the curing process.

Temporary snow melting mats

We offer versatile temporary heating mats for use on building sites and other locations where ground must be thawed or dangerous ice cleared quickly when other solutions are not practicable.

The versatile mats are most commonly used to thaw frozen ground so it can be dug for ditches, trenches and service lines. Additionally the mats can be used on site to prevent builder’s sand from freezing, to warm barrels and their contents and to clear ice from walkways and drives. The mats are particularly useful for locations where salt or mechanical clearing of ice or frost cannot be used such as some historic properties and ships.

Premium and light versions of the mats.

The mats are available in two sizes, 1.0 x 3.0m / 850W and a slim model, 0.8 x 6.0m / 1400W, which is particularly suitable when digging ditches or installing service lines. Two versions are available, a premium and light. The light temporary mat is a lower cost option and may be more suited to larger construction projects where multiple mats are required and cost is a consideration.

The premium temporary heating mat (pictured below) includes increased insulation and mechanical protection, multiple eyelets for suspending it or wrapping it around a barrel and mechanical straps for safe storage.

Concrete curing cables

During very cold weather the concrete curing process can be delayed or can even completely stop due to cold temperature. Heat Mat offers a 40W per linear metre sacrificial concrete curing cable to provide sustained and targeted heat to support the curing process with outputs up to 400W per cubic metre of concrete.

The concrete curing cable should be installed following consultation with Heat Mat and with consideration for the site e.g. ground conditions, power availability and atmospheric conditions. A minimum 5°C cable temperature is required for installation which can be achieved by uncoiling and then briefly powering up the cable ahead of installing it.

Cable voltage: 230V
Max temp on cable: 90°C
Available in outputs: 730W to 4300W
