Heat Mat were approach by a commercial bakery to find a solution to regulating the temperature of dough hoppers and ensuring production continued in cold conditions.
The bakery was experiencing problems when cold temperatures on the exterior of the steel drums began to cause the dough to crack in the hoppers. If the dough continued to crack, the cake batter would be ruined or lead to inconsistencies in the product quality.
Heat Mat specified self-regulating cable to heat the exterior of the hoppers and achieve a constant temperature, preventing any further damage to the cake dough and delays in production.
